Soooooo tired

Got toddler 2.5 and baby of 7 weeks. I'm doing all feeding (breast), day and night. DH listens out for toddler in night as he still wakes. Toddler has been up since 5am just as I was about to settle baby back down. DH leaves for work between 5.45-6am every day. Grandparents about 45 minutes away but still work and have other commitments. They do help when they can but they're not readily available. Nice neighbours but not friendly enough to rely upon. I'm just soo tired as baby feeding every 2-3 hours at night. Too tired to type anymore as got to shower before hubby goes to work.

You poor thing that sounds exhausting.
Does your toddler go to nursery at all?

Coughandsplutter · 05/05/2017 06:32

He does three days but has been off poorly this week so think I'm feeling it!

Oh god yes the weeks without nursery are never ending. A newborn and a poorly toddler is just awful. At least it's Friday!

Hang in there OP and remember you're doing a great job. I have a 1 month old and a 21 month old and there are days I just shut myself in the bathroom for 30 seconds and wail 'what have a done!?' - and like you I still have eldest in nursery! The sleep will settle, sick toddlers are so hard to deal with but it won't last long

It's so hard isn't it. Hang in there you're doing a great job.

I have a 2.1 year old and a 5 month old. Fortunately the toddler sleeps through without a peep (up at 6) but the baby is horrific at the moment. Last night I started settling her for bedtime at 7pm and she didn't settle for the night until 1am and then woke every 2 hours. She's terrible at napping as well so I have her in the carrier for most naps. As well as being tired my muscles and bones are killing from lugging her round the whole time. Sob sob.

On the positive side it's Friday! Get yourself a nice treat - a nice piece of cake or chocolate and a cuppa. Sugar and caffeine are the only things holding me together at the moment!
