My beautiful angel was 4 weeeks early and although she has seemed in a lot of pain with her tummy she has progressed well and is now a very healthy 9.10 at 7 weeks. I'm a bit worried about finding blood and mucus in her poo. I mentioned it to the doctor at her 7 wk check today and she told me not to worry but couldn't offer an explanation. She has no tear that the doc can see. She last had a huge runny poo on Sunday night with a small amount of blood and mucus but she hasn't been since so i don't know if there is still blood there. All very well the doc telling me not to worry but that is easier said than done!! Anyone any experience they can share with me?

Can't help, but if she still seems to be in pain and it continues, I would definitely get a second opinion. You could always ask your health visitor as a first step.

Could be intolerance to the milk?

This should not be left un-investigated if you see blood in the poo again or if she does not have a poo in the next day or so.

But it is most likely nothing to worry about, so as the doc said. No worrying is easier said than done as you commented.
