Moses basket until about two months old and then he went into a gorgeous wooden crib where he stayed until he went into a cot at 4 months old.

He stayed in the same room as me until he was 10 months old.

PixieMiss · 04/05/2017 09:09

My DS used a moses basket in the living room till 3 months old.

He had a Next2Me in our bedroom from birth to 6 months. He then moved into a cot in his own room.

Moses basket in my room at night and pram carry cot downstairs during the day until 8 weeks then cot in our room till 7 months.
We then will move the cot into his room.

Carrycot from parm (suitable for overnight sleeping) until 6 weeks and then into the cot in our room. At 6 and half months she moved into our bed.

Ours will have moses basket downstairs until they outgrow it.
And a bednest in with us til 6 months when we'll hopefully get them into their cot in their room (when we've bought it)

arbrighton · 04/05/2017 20:07

But bear in mind OP that SIDS advice is they're in the same room as you ALL the time until 6 months

so, if you watch tv downstairs, theoretically they're in whatever it is downstairs

tinypop4 · 04/05/2017 20:09

I couldn't bear the sound of the Moses basket when they worked around for both dc! We put the cot in our bedroom and dc slept in it at night from about 4 weeks.

Still used the Moses during the day

Co slept with DS until 8 months then transferred him into his own cot in his own room.

tappitytaptap · 04/05/2017 22:16

In Moses basket til he outgrew it at 3 or 4 months. Then moved cot into our room (and chest of drawers out to fit it in!). Slept in with us til 8 months...all my NCT class put theirs in their own room much earlier apart from one who still has their 13 month old's cot in their room. I find if I stay with my DPs when DH is away, DS wakes up a lot more, so glad he is in his own room. Really wish I'd got a next2me crib for night feeds though. Next time! Grin

Cot straightaway from birth, into own room @ 6 months

FluffyBathTowel · 04/05/2017 22:29

Moses baskets only last a matter of weeks rather than months. I had a snuzpod which DD was in until about 6-7 months. She's a long baby though so outgrew it quicker. Moved her into her cot in our bedroom until 9 1/2 months when she moved into her own room. She's been there for 2 weeks now at night and I miss her BlushGrin

Cot from birth in our room, own room from 6/7 months. Never had Moses baskets etc.

qumquat · 05/05/2017 08:38

DD was in a bednest until 7 months then a cot in our room. We moved her to her own room at about 10 months.

NapQueen · 05/05/2017 08:41

Dd had a moses basket for day and night sleep until about 4mo. Then travel cot in our room for night time and daytime she slept on a (clean!!!) spongy changing mat with a blanket on in the living room. Cot in her own room about 6.5mo

Ds had a crib in our room (lasted til 8mo), and we used a Tiny Love 3 in 1 Napper in the living room. Which I adored!!

Eeeeek2 · 05/05/2017 13:55

Chicco lullago from birth still fits with some spare room at 6 months, also folds into smallish bag for going away to visit grandparents.

Also fits the sleepyhead deluxe which save my sanity when ds wouldn't sleep unless contained so he felt secure.

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 05/05/2017 13:59

My daughter was 8 weeks when we she went into a cot in her own room. She always had a thing about stretching out, in fact when she was born she didn't bend her legs for about 3 hours. She's super tall aswell so pretty much outgrew it by then. She was much happier in her cot.

SleepyHeadThisTime · 05/05/2017 14:35

DC2 went straight into a cot from birth as DC1 struggled with the transition from cot to Moses basket. However I'll be sleeping in his room with him until 6montha as per SIDS guidelines
