2nd child experiences

When to have a second child? My boy is 10 months old now and I have always wanted a 2nd child. I really don't know when the best time is to have our second or when to even start trying. Does anyone have any experiences they can give?

I think whatever the gap there are pros and cons. Mine are just over 3 years apart and that worked well for us as the older one was in pre-School 3 days a week but I don't feel it was too large a gap to cause problems. A good friend has two DD who are 13 months apart, it looked totally exhausting while they were small but they've grown up incredibly close.

How was your DS's birth? Have you recovered from that ok? Are you in a comfortable position financially and in terms of work? If so, whenever you and your partner feel ready is fine Smile

I have 19 months between mine, the baby is 11 wks old. Ivhad some tough days and nights, luckily the toddler sleeps through so it's just baby to keep me up. He has reflux so I was up a LOT for a few weeks.

It is hard going to start with, but I feel a bit more on top of things now. I have guilt over the toddler though, and guilt over the baby, mum guilt over everything in fact!
