Potty training

So...after much encouraging from my mum from when my dd was about 12 months old Hmm I'm wondering whether now is the time to think about potty training. My daughter is 21 months old and almost consistently telling me she needs to do a poo along with asking for (& sometimes going and getting) the changing mat. So, I suppose it is time to start? She never tells me when she needs a wee, the other day she did a wee in the bath and seemed most concerned. Is now the time?

My dd never told me she needed a wee but always did with a poo. We are almost 2 weeks into potty training and she is now asking to go to the toilet for both. If you think she's ready I would give it a go for a few days and see how she gets on, you can always go back to nappies and try again later.

Mooloo , i agree with PP , give it a go , you have nothing to lose ! You can always go back and try again in a month or so.

we had a few goes with my DS and he finally totally toilet trained one week before his 3rd birthday. my mum is like yours - endless tales of how we were potty trained at a stupidly young age ! bless her

Ok! Thank you both, will give it a whirl! I think they must have potty trained earlier in our parents and grandparents era as all family members that age seem a bit shocked she isn't! I guess I feel worried as I tried to show her a potty a couple of months ago and she just stood in it, wore it as a hat and filled it with toys! Will read up how to go about it! Wine
