Cot v cot bed

Expecting my 2nd with a 13 month gap. I have a cotbed for ds and for the time being we live in a 2 bed so the children will share.

Will I need another cotbed for my second or will it be practical to move ds into a big bed and then 2nd into cotbed from a cot when the time comes.

I got an ikea cotbed for ds2 its much smaller than a normal cot bed but the matress space is still quite big my tall 4 year old could lay flat out on it. It should do until at least 18 months if you have a big baby by then your older one can be in a big bed. My oldest moved into a single at 18 months because he liked lots of space he was great in it.
