Cheap gift ideas for 1year old girl

Hello! I want to get a small gift for a NCT class friend who's little girl is turning 1. I don't want to spend to much, I don't know her or the girl particularly well, but don't want to give something useless. Any ideas?!
Thanks in advance!

How much is not much?

I'd get her a book or those fat chalks.

My dd loved the fisher price buckets which are about £8 or £9. In fact she still plays with them most days and she is nearly 3. If it is too much money then I would get something like a book or a shape sorter type puzzle. These are usually fairly cheap in the supermarkets.

Yes, around £5 would be good.
Thanks for the ideas!

Sticker book? Watering can or ball for the garden?

More than £5 but they also do some lovely wooden vehicles for £5-10ish
