Why is my 4.5 year old waking in the night?

He wakes to be 'tucked in' - we have one year old too so 4-5 wakings a night is exhausting.

My DD started waking up at night about this age. She was having what she called "bad dreams". She wasn't upset or anything, just wanted to be reassured and would usually go back to sleep. It lasted a few months.
