Changing midwife/hospital just before birth

Hi there

We're trying to move, not a fun time.
So far it's not been a great success and it looks like (if we're lucky) we may end up moving a couple of weeks before my due date in June.
I feel slightly panicked as I'd obviously need to change all my healthcare providers at last minute.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Would I just call my nearest GP's when we moved and ask their advice?

I changed last minute your midwife won't actually be there when your in labour I didn't think it really mattered I'd definetley stick to hospital you'll get to soonest, I went back 2 times before I was admitted for them to check me x good luck!!

If the nearest hospital to where you are moving to does tours get yourself booked on one that way you will know about parking etc as well as seeing the maternity dept.

I would also contact the drs surgery local to where you are moving and see if you can get the details of the local midwife team. You could drop them an email.

At the moment you have no confirmed move date so its not worth panicking about it too much. I moved hospitals at 32 weeks. No bother. It will be a random midwife at your birth anyhow. So long as all your notes are up to date it will be fine.

I moved a month before I gave birth about 30 miles away out of London. Stressful at the time but I just called up the hospital that I wanted to give birth in and they arranged for me to come in and get booked in and have a look around. Nice and simple!

I moved counties at 37 weeks. I found out what I needed to do to book with my local MW team beforehand. I rang them the week before the move. They saw me at 37+5, I saw a consultant the following week. It was all fine. The most stressful thing was parking at the unfamiliar hospital (with its non existent parking).
