my 10 month old ds is staying out for the first time tonight so me and dp can have a night out and i dont know how i feel about it. He will be staying with family and will only be 5 minutes down the road but i know i'll miss him and want him to come back.
Am i being stupid?

no your not being stupid in answer to your second part

in answer to your title.
fanfucking tastic. thank fuck for that, at last,

are some of the things ithought

Kbear · 10/03/2007 14:33

I felt bereft, couldn't wait to get her in the morning. But do it, it is good for everyone concerned! Baby gets to be cuddled by family, you and DP get some time together (although you will only talk about the baby!).

twelveyeargap · 10/03/2007 14:34

You might miss him, or you might get stuck into a video/ bottle of wine/ large bar of chocolate/ actually going out for the first time in a year and feel bloody delighted.

Don't fgs, feel guilty if you do feel good either!

Thanks,
i know it needs to be done, and its better to do it while he's still small so he gets used to it although it would only be occasionally that he stays out.

Custardo - otherwise known as 'earth mother' strikes again.
Do you not know any other words that don't start with the letter F and end with the letter K - revolting.

Tortington · 11/03/2007 22:00

sandy - darling why do you insist on following me around mumsnet like a dog - to call me names

fuck off.

colditz · 11/03/2007 22:03

Sandydut

I am not sure why you felt it appropriate to comment upon Custardo's language, and not upon the OP, OR why you haven't deigned to comment upon anyone elses language bar hers, but.

Bad language is not considered bad netiquette. Following people around to abuse this is though, so please, would you mind?

Stop it, it's rude.

only posted on three threads so far this month - all to hound me.

she thinks i slighted 'her situation' with regards to her family.

on closer inspection it seems that she had a child through IVF. something on which i haven't commented as far as i can remember

something which se refuses to prove i did - instead shes in fucking bunny boiler mode. get over me love. i;m not worth it.

in response to the OP and trying to stay out of the firing line of whatever personal war is being played out on this thread....

I thought - 'bliss, a lie-in tomorrow'! You're not stupid to miss him, but trust me, get over it and enjoy your night!
