Sun cream - eczema

Can anyone recommend a sun cream for DD, she's one and I've used Lidls this weekend which I use on other DD (7) and always been ok, however 1 year old has eczema and now her skin is sore.

We were recommended Sunsense and DD seems to have no issues with it

I used a brand called Jason from the health food shop until ds was about 5 then he was ok with white bottle ambre Solaire. Quite pricey but the only one that didn't itch or make his eyes stream.

Generally speaking I try not to use any sun cream because it makes him flare up. I just keep him covered up. But when it cant be avoided, Ultrasun is the best I've found for my ds's eczema. I've found it in tesco. Pricey mind you. Ds is nearly 10 now and we've tried just about every sun cream going. He still has flare ups sometimes with prolonged use of it but it causes them less than other brands.

I get Sunsense factor 50 on prescription for my daughter. Just explain to the doctor that you have tried various brands and they all cause a flare up of the eczema. She has been getting it on prescription for nearly 15 years and it really is the only sun screen that she can use.

Sunsense, recommended by dermatologist. We were told put body lotion/cream on first, wait half an hour then apply sunsense after. Ensure you don't put any on the affected areas.

Green people organic kids sun cream has always worked for our DD.

After trying a lot of sun creams, i found that the Boots kids sensitive allergy one worked best for my daughter.

I got Sunsense on prescription from the doctor but it brought her out in a heat rash! It's trial and error really, everyone is different.

I think that unfortunately cheap suncream seems to have a load of allergens in it - sunsense and p20 are ok.

I buy the Lidl one for nursery and school as then I'm not annoyed if it goes missing, but I'll have to try the ones recommended,

Starlighter is right, it's just a case of trial and error. At 1, long sleeved, light coloured vests and light weight combats were our go to for nursery and time in the sum (i.e. covering up rather than putting on suncream).

Sunsense and Green People Organic both flare my son's skin and it's a pretty pricey business (and really uncomfortable for them, poor things).

We find a slightly lower factor suits him better (the blockers in factor 50 have him flared up right away, but a kids 30 works a bit better).

The nivea kids one worked for us last year (not the water proof one!!) but they also seem to change the ingredients year to year so it's always back to the drawing board in Spring!

Good luck finding something that works for you. If you can get the GP to prescribe something you will be lucky - ours has a zero suncream prescribing policy even though my son has ezema & confirmed allergies. We were basically told too bad.

My DS has eczema, and we use the ambre solire transparent one, it seems to be so less sticky etc than the cream ones, and doesn't seem to make his eczema any worse.

After a lot of trial and error last summer we found a ridiculously expensive one called Ladival. It was literally the only one we could find that didn't aggravate ds's excema and we tried several of the ones above......
