Moving from Moses basket to crib

We purchased a crib when I was pregnant not thinking that baby wouldn't be happy in it (first baby so very naive Grin )

Put him in it the first night home and he hated it. It was obviously too big for him so we brought the moses basket upstairs. He's now 6 weeks old and is quite long so hasn't got much room left in the basket so we want to start getting him used to the crib.

Any tips on how to do so? I've read about rolling up a towel and putting under the fitted sheet so he's a bit more 'closed in' so feels more secure but is this safe??

You could get a sleepyhead. People say they work. We have had no choice but to get our baby used to her cot bed as she went in a harness for hip dysplasia and her hips are so wide and like a frog in it so we had one unsettled night but she then got used to it. She wouldn't of fit in a crib or sleepyhead so she had to get used to it. Maybe give it a couple of nights and see if he settles.

Sleepyhead - see if you can borrow one and see if it works as they're expensive.
