AIBU to think my MIL behaviour was strange?

AIBU to think that my MIL putting an open wine bottle under my three months' old DC nose is a strange behaviour? She thought she was having a laugh but I just didn't find it comfortable. My DP thinks I am making a big deal out of nothing.

Very hard to say without further context. But on the face of it I would agree with your DP as it sounds like you're making a bit of a big deal over nothing. Sorry!

In what context?

MsJolly · 05/04/2017 22:43

Erm, I'm with you-that's weird and unnecessary. Why would you do that to a baby?

Context is needed... or a bit more info.

Sounds harmless, the kind of thing some people find funny and some don't. Doesn't sound malicious to me.

Its not very funny but she was obviously just joking. Let it go....

gobberz · 06/04/2017 20:09

She was only joking, what harm harm has been done?

I watched my sister do this to her 1 year old son a couple of weeks ago and I felt really uncomfortable with it. When he grabbed the bottle and started licking the top, it was too much for me and had to look away. Other people there found it hilarious though so maybe it's me
