Dirty nappies, how often?

My dd is 5 weeks old and hasn't had a dirty nappy since thursday. I'm doing mixed feeding and the same thing happened last weekend she went 1 day without a dirty nappy so I asked the HV and she said that this was ok since she's getting bottles as well as breastmilk.

But we're now nearing 2 full days and no dirty nappy should I be concerned? Or is her system just adjusting to the bottles, I'm increasing the bottle feeds every few days. She sometimes seems as if she needs to fill her nappy but just can't quite manage it. She passes plenty of wind though so she's not too uncomfortable but I'm slightly concerend by the lack of poo.

Has anyone elses baby done this can you put my mind at reast and tell me that she's normal?

my ds2 is only breastfed and can go 2 or 3 days before a huge explosive poo emerges - he's now 4 months old but has been like this since the beginning - it worried me too at first as ds1 pooed ever feed - but apparently some babies are just like this - relax and enjoy the non smelly nappy changes!

Just be thankful you're not on my dd's schedule, currently 5 or 6 dirty nappies per day ...

Same here - ds2 (2 weeks old) goes through too many nappies each day to count! I swear, as soon as we put a nappy on him, he poos in it! Ds1 was totally different though - he often went a day or 2 between poos. Both were/are fully bf.

oh we've been at the 5/6 nappies a day. Have also had the explosive ones that cover everything in sight, this was when I was still exclusively breastfeeding. And also putting the clean nappy on and oh she's filled it again.

Tonight after her bath she had a dirty nappy so I'm not concerned anymore. She wasn't in any discomfort before and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
