Strong women inspired books

This is my first post although read quite a few threads.
I've always been a feminist but also very girlie. Since being a parent I've wanted my boys to grow up believing in equality but now having my girl I feel like I need to do even more. Granted she's only 2 weeks old!
Are there any toddler/preschool books with strong female leads? We have all the classics and favourites like gruffalo, bear hunt etc but nothing with strong girls. I've googled and only find ones that are for school age kids.
Any ideas?

I came on to say Margaret Atwood but see she's a little young Grin

Sorry, no suggestions. But at least I can bump the thread for you.

Hi,
This website is American I think, but their Facebook feed is always full of lovely inspiring stories and book suggestions :)
