Passport photo ok?

Hi
Do you think my daughter's passport photo is ok or will it be rejected? Her nan took it to have it done earlier and thought it would be ok as the form said babies do not have to look at the camera (she is 7 months old) we have an appointment for a week fast track passport tomorrow as due to issues with her mother she has to come back to my country for a while.

My dd had one rejected when only 1 ear was visible. And they need to be looking forwards. .

My gut feeling would be no. I think when they say not looking at the camera they mean their eyes don't have to be looking at the camera. Not that their head can be turned to the side.

No that'll be rejected. It's ask not close enough and should have more of her face and less of her body.

Agree, I think that will be rejected because of the head turn. Was it done by a photographer or photo booth? If a photographer then you should be able to get it taken again for free.

Hang on a minute *due to issues with her mother" ? Does the child's mother know you are getting a fast track passport to remove the child (from her?) You know you need a signed document from the other parent to remove the child from the UK and will be stopped at the airport without this yes?

No. It will definitely be rejected. Better to take it to someone who does passport photos and understands the regulations - Timpson's is a good place to start if you have a branch nearby.

Your situation sounds complicated. Have you checked that she can get into your country ok on a UK passport alone, and also that you are allowed to take her from the UK (you said you were leaving due to problems with her mother)

She needs to be looking at the camera and have face clearly visible and closer. Go to a photo shop or timpsons.

No bulky clothing either. Are you applying for a British passport and does her mother know?

Surely you won't be able to get a first passport without the consent of both parents, and all the documentation for the child i.e. Long form birth certificate etc?

The photo isn't right and won't be accepted.

The fast track process is very strict - I know because I had two first passport applications rejected, simply from having documentation slightly incorrect, third appointment I finally got accepted. It wasn't fun!

OP, try taking the child to a photo shop such as Max Speilman. They're very good at getting a passable photo. Although we did have to bribe with raisins.

Although if she isn't able to consent I'm not sure of the legal position? Hand her over to social services?

Need to be looking forward into the camera not to the side.

Go to a photoshop for about £5 to know you get a passable photo, don't take it yourself
