Grandparents talk nonsense

I'm a parent to be. I have a niece who's 10 and a nephew who is 8 on my husbands side. Yesterday were were at his parents and the kids were there. I couldn't believe the crap they say to the kids. Their gran told the the kids that everyone is dying. Their grandad told my nephew that if the girls in the street were being mean to him he was allowed to hit them because he doesn't discriminate. He them told him a few years ago he hit a female friend of theirs because she had him first.

Anyone else think these 2 are nuts....I worry for my own kids having this as an example

Sounds very odd. I think you have to challenge it if they say something that will upset your child.

Just concerns me what they say when other adults aren't around

Take it as being forewarned and never leave your dc with them.

That's what my mum says... I feel bad for the kids parents who are 400 miles away and don't have a clue what their kids are being told
