Feeling bad and guilty, scratched eye.

Hi, feeling so bad and guilty at the moment. Was putting a bib with a popper fastening on my lg(8 weeks) when my finger slipped and I scratched the white of her eye. She screamed and I knew it must of hurt her! Feel so bad and guilty for scratching her by accident. Got an appointment in a couple of hours to get her eye checked a I think she might need eye drops.
She's sleeping at the moment but not sure how she is going to be when she wakes up. Feel like crying.
Anyone else's lo's had a scratch on their eye?

Oh love, it'll be right. I know it feels awful when you hurt them accidentally. It's probably fine and you're getting it checked out, which is the right thing to do. We've all done it. I haven't scratched an eye, but DD burst a blood vessel in the white of her eye from mega-screaming when she was about 3 months old and I felt terrible. Oh, and she rolled off our bed onto a hardwood floor when she was 5 weeks. Fine after both of those, of course. These things are usually more traumatic for you than them

Thanks for your reply. Dr said she is fine and gave me a prescription to get antibiotic eye drops if it looks worse in the morning or next few days. Definitely worse for us emotionally.

I cut my daughter's finger when she was less than a week old. I was just trimming her super long nails I still feel guilty for it now and she is four!

We've all done rings like that (well I have anyway!) I always felt awful, but tried to remind myself that it was an accident and that they will be fine.
