So, I've got my first evening alone with 2 week old DS and 2 year old DD. Any tips to help it go smoothly?

I'm thinking just clamp DS to a boob and feed him while I get DD sorted, then put him down afterwards?

Think that's pretty much how I tackled it! Have you got a sling? I found it really helpful as it frees up your hands Smile

Congratulations Thanks

I remember the first time getting two children down by myself! I rewarded myself with a glass of wine 😅

I used to focus on the eldest, and just feed/hold/park the youngest then concentrate on them. I didn't even bother trying to get my babies into bed in the evening until they were about 3/4mths - I'm lazy 🙄

So yes, I'd just clamp the baby to the boob and crash on. Reading, dressing, brushing hair etc are all totally achievable one handed, and I used to bring the bouncy chair into the bathroom for bath time.

Thanks

That seems to have gone ok! DS is asleep, DD is in bed singing to herself and I have wine. Hurrah! Grin.

(Didn't attempt a bath as they had one last night. Think I'll work up to that!)

I used to focus on DS and DD just got put somewhere or breastfed or something. Neglected second child Blush

She seems ok for it (they're 13 and 11 now and she probably is better at doing things on her own)
