Just before 3rd birthday. Dummy fairy took it away in exchange for a toy.

About 3yo. He gave up when he wanted to. I got a lot of shit comments off family, friends, playschool staff, strangers in the street... couldn't give a bloody monkey's.

Wanker BIL was smug about his same-age daughter never having a dummy, gloat gloat etc. But he was the one who'd give her a lighter to play with while sitting in the pushchair HmmShock

eggs he slept through from the first night. However bedtime became harder for about a week. He had been drifting off to sleep quietly with the dummy but needed us to soothe him to sleep when it went. He is now back to soothing himself :)

This is brilliant thanks everyone - loads of different ages for giving it up. I'm loving the dummy fairy ideas!
