Leakproof water cup recommendations please?

Hi, DD currently has one of these cups in her bed at night. However she's recently complained it tastes nasty and I've read about how the valve can grow mould inside, I gather these cups have been recalled in the US.

Any recommendations for another leakproof cup please? One which is fully cleanable? She is 4 so in theory could put something back on a bedside table or close a spout but not sure if she would when half asleep (and we need one for DD2 age 2 as well).

Thanks

We have always used the systema bottles. Like the ones you've mentioned there was talk of the valves getting a bit icky but we've never had any issues with ours and we've been using them for years. it could be because we only use them for water and they're washed and aired every day. They're the only bottles we've had that don't leak at all.

Oops I just realised you said that you're not sure she'd close the spout when half asleep. The systema ones do need to be closed, it's just a quick twist.

Thanks Spider. I think my mum has one so could borrow it and see what happens I guess!

www.mandyhaberman.com/anywayup-cup we found these were good.

We use the munchkin 360 miracle cup but dd is only 2, not sure what an older child would make of it.

minipie · 31/01/2017 17:43

Thanks! Looks like the anywayup cup has the same sort of valve you can't clean inside - is that right?

The 360 one looks like a contender, I think DD would quite like it actually, it looks quite space age (or at least that's how I'd sell it Grin)

Wow Cup

We use nuby insulated cool sipper cups. My son has used his since he was 2, he is 6 now and still happy to use it at night. Really easy to keep clean and you can get replacement spouts.

123bananas · 31/01/2017 20:03

Wow cups are excellent. I used to have anyway up cups too. I find Wow cups leak less.

123bananas · 31/01/2017 20:04

Should say my 4 and 3 year old have used them from 18 months old.

LeBoob · 31/01/2017 20:08

We've just changed DS cups to the 360 miracle cup & im really impressed! Nothing really to chew on, very non drip & super easy to clean.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 31/01/2017 20:09

Litecups are also good

minipie · 31/01/2017 20:51

Gosh thanks for all these suggestions - I will check them all out.

Looking especially for ones which don't have a little unopenable valve inside but. where you can actually access the whole structure to clean it.

I checked the valve in DD's tommee tippee sipper this eve and can actually see black specks inside it Envy there is no way to clean in there.

My 4.5 yo and 22mo both have a munchkin 350 miracle cup which are great.

NewYearNewStinkyPants · 31/01/2017 22:29

We've had the munchkin 360 cups for over a year, just bought DD her third one as they do start to leak after a while, well dd's did anyway. But they are the best ones I've ever bought

clarabellski · 01/02/2017 09:33

Another vote for the munchkin 360 here

minipie · 01/02/2017 11:40

Thanks everyone - I think it will be a munchkin 360 or a wow cup, they look pretty grown up and cool to me Grin so hopefully DD will think the same, and there are no valves which can't be cleaned (I couldn't tell on the Nuby or the Sigg)

Litecup looks amazing! but think DD would be up all night playing with it... !
