What does your 1 year old eat on an average day?

Hi all,

Does anyone want to share what their one year old eats and how much?

My son has just turned one and has started to get a bit fussy. He tends to go through stages of eating loads then not being interested at all. I also worry about salt intake, we never add any, but it seems that there is loads in everything!

My son is quite small and I find myself worrying he is not eating enough. However, when he goes though stages of eating loads I panic he is eating too much! I mainly cook all my own food and he often has what we are eating. He is on 2 bottles of formula a day and am looking to move this to cows milk asap.

I think it would really help to know what everyone else is up to. Thank you all in advance.

This is what he had yesterday...

7am - 7oz formula
8am - a crumpet and slices of mango
10.15am - 2 mini rice cakes and a pot of fromage fraise
12 - a bowl of spaghetti bolognese.
3.30pm - broccoli, pea and apple soup with toast and natural yoghurt rippled through it
6.30pm - 7oz formula

DS is 14 months, a typical day looks like this -

Breakfast: 8am - 1/2 a weetabix, 1/2 banana & a petit filous

Lunch: 11:45am - a picky plate usually of things like roast chicken slices, cherry tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, cheese, crackers, boiled egg etc just depending what's in the fridge that particular day

Nap: 1pm - 8oz milk

After school: 3:30pm - smoothie and a biscuit

Dinner: 5:30/6ish - small portion of whatever we're having, some fruit afterwards if he wants it, usually kiwi and grapes (his favourites)

Bed: 8:30pm - 8oz milk

Night waking: midnight - 5oz milk

Some days he eats the whole world, others he survives on milk and my sanity, Ive learned to just roll with it

My DS is very nearly 1 we are starting to switch to whole milk but he eats like a horse as well, today he had:

7am- 8oz of formula and a slice of toast and peanut butter (with the crusts cut off so just the inner bit)
10am- 2 little organix rice cake thingies while we were shopping
12.30pm- cheese sticks, ham and a couple of baby carrots then grapes and blueberries, with a cup of whole milk (about 5oz)
3pm- half my scone
5pm- ham broth (potatoes, carrots, barley, leeks, ham etc)
At 7pm ish he'll have another 8oz bottle of formula
He drinks water all day as well
He was 10kg when I got him weighed about a month ago but he's really tall for his age.
We were just saying the other day we feel like we are feeding him constantly but I don't think the can regulate their appetites as well so I suppose little and often is good really Smile

Thank you all for sharing, I'm really trying not to stress about food and this has really helped.
