Nearly 2 year old chews food & then spits it out

My daughter is a pretty good eater & eats most foods but she also chews food for ages & then spits it out. Just now she is sat on my lap chewing an apple & then spitting the bits out & then taking another bite, chewing & spitting that out too. She will eat a biscuit, chew, chew, chew & then spit it out & take another. I don't get it. If she doesn't like the food it's spat out right away but she obviously likes the taste of the foods as she chews they for so long. Part of me thinks it's not a bad thing as she is trying the flavour but it's really just wasting food & making a mess. Anyone else have a kid that did this or know why they do it?

My wee girl does this. She's 2 1/2 now and it's much less. Ham, apples, etc. She bites into tomatoes and sucks them then puts to one side.

I think some things are just to tough on her wee teeth but I always give her them to limit pickiness developing.
