Did your child learn to tie shoelaces?
At what age do you think they should be able to do them?

DS1 was 9 Think that's probably late but he got there in the end.

DD could go through the process when she was 5.5 but took another 6 months or so before they were tight enough to last.

It probably depends on your child's fine motor skills so the earlier they can hold a pencil properly and other activities the earlier they'll be able to tie them I expect.

One of mine got it at 4yo, the other didn't get it until they were 6yo.

Interestingly they were the other way round for learning to ride a bike.

In my experience, they don't really learn until they have a pair of lacing shoes and have to learn.

Roughly 5/6 but only because she was desperate not to have trainers with Velcro again.
