Obsessed with a friend. Advice needed

DS (2.8) is obsessed with his friend. We see her socially and at a toddler group but they are in different pre school classes as she is a year older. He is struggling with going to nursery as he just wants to see her. In addition he talks about her 24/7. Anything you ask him he answers with her name. All his imaginary games involve her. When they are together he is happy to play with others too and for others to join their games but I'm worried because I think his obsession is starting to make him unhappy

Aw bless, don't worry too much. As you said encourage him to add other people to his Imaginary play and keep socialising with others and his little friend. May just be a phase, just keep an eye on it.

We've the same our 3 yr old is obsessed with a boy in his class and 3yr old twins in our 2 yr olds class are obsessed with her.
The 3,yr old we and his nursery encourage other friendships and this is slowly helping. Similar with the twins plus as they are two and older they are stoped from.physically overwhelming the two yr old. A kid only needs so many cuddles a day
