Boobs after breastfeeding

Hiya, posted in feeding section but no responses so trying here instead, looking for advice/experience.

Gradually over several weeks have weaned 7 month old off boob. Ended in mastitis which I've had several times even though I stopped very slowly.

Anyway, any idea how long till milk dries up?

Desperate to get myself new bra's but no idea how long to leave it for boobs to get to size/shape they are going to be.

Thanks in advance x

I waited a month and got measured then, I could still get a tiny bit out but they had pretty much deflated by then :(

Thank you, I will hold off for a bit. I had itty bitty boobs before preggo/bf god knows what I'll be left with Confused

Me too, they are back to being itty bitty, was totally gutted lol. But 10 months post breastfeeding the muscle is starting to come back so they look less like empty things :)

I waited a week or two. I massaged my boobs with geranium oil in a hot shower, the breast feeding nurse told me it was the best thing to do. It helped a lot.

I breastfeed DD1 for 9m (still feeding DD2) and I found not much changed after I gave up as they had already shrunk back down and settled after about 6m of feeding. They ended up the same size as they were before, albeit a different shape Sad I would occasionally leak milk in the shower for a good 3m after I quit however! I'm a B cup when not preggo/feeding and I'm pretty much back at that again now with 6.5mo DD2.

Thanks everyone. The mastitis is much better so feeling less sorry for myself. Will get measured in next couple weeks and perhaps get some cheap/nice bras for now then invest and treat myself in couple months.

Life is strange without breastfeeding though, have to remember bottles/formula etc when going out, although so few feeds compared to what felt 10,000 boob feeds day and night haha. Probably slept the best I have last couple nights since Lo was born 7 months ago!
