Baby hates pram

Hi all,

I'm new to mumsnet and hoping I'm posting in the right place.
My daughter is now 8 weeks old and has silent reflux which touchwood seems to be under control but hates being in her pram. We have a sling which she loves and is great but there are times when I would love her to be able to go in the pram I.e if I need to pop to shops, it's hard to carry any shopping back with the weight of my daughter (she's quite a chunk). She seems to sleep in her Moses basket at night okay so I don't think it's a case of her hating being on her back. I've tried taking her out when she's really tired thinking she may just drop off but she seems to last about 10minutes before screaming. I've also raised the bassinet bit with a reflux wedge which means she can also see me when we are moving, I've tried using a blanket and tucking her in tightly like we do at night, I've put a muslin in that smells of me but nothing seems to be helping. I know I have the sling but it would just be great to be able to use the pram on the odd occasion - otherwise it's becoming an expensive shopping trolley for us!
Any help would be gratefully received!
Thanks

Ineed - do check 'Which'for safety testing. I have a feeling the lie flat car seats are not safety tested lieing width ways across car. Hence ones like the kiddy evo that lie flat but rear facing are deemed safer. I think when I looked into the britax type a few years ago they only had to test in the seated regular rear facing mode. Lie flat they passed tests but only just.

Ineed - I have also just seen there's a new lie flat car seat due out by end January Called Joie I level. No pictures yet, but might be worth keeping an eye out for

Definitely go to a sling library. I use a beco Gemini. Rarely used a pushchair and still use it now even though she's 2!

When I went shopping when using a sling, I used a wheely shopping bag.

Thanks Art - I've made a note to look into the Joie lie-flat seat next month.

I've had a lovely helpful PM from another MNetter about the Jane matrix too so this thread has proven very useful (apologies again to Em for me hijacking the thread!).

I will definitely be doing some research on Which as well in the coming weeks. I know the Jane Matrix 2 did quite well on safety in their review particularly when used with the isofix base.

Hi my little girl is 8 weeks old and has suddenly decided she hates her carrycot she will not go in it for longer than 10 mins and would prefer to be in the sling ( baby bjorn) however she’s getting heavier and I’d like her to use the pram more. We have the sliver cross reef, any tips please? Our walk today was horrendous! She cried and screamed the minute I’d try and play her in the pram, I’m guessing she is too young to use the pushchair section yet.
