Weaning help

My baby is 8m now and I have been weaning for the past two. I am struggling with it though.
I am so terrified of her choking and have run out of food ideas.
I feel like I am failing as a parent.
Any advice?

Look at youtube videos of babies weaning so that you can tell the difference between the gag reflex and choking and read up on paediatric first aid if you can't do a short course locally. That should help you become more confident. We did a mix of spoon feeding and hand held foods and it was fine.

Weaning is tough! Especially the first time.

Firstly, I read that a baby's gag reflex is much further forward than ours. Knowing that made me worry a whole lot less.

Food ideas - it's the old cliché. They eat what you eat. Alright, we cut back on the curries/super spicy stuff, and changed rice for potatoes as we were doing BLW and rice is a step too far for me!

Quiche is great, sausages, pies -fish, chicken, shepherds - lasagne, fresh pasta (tortellini?), falafel, roast dinner, things on toast, eggy bread, gnocchi, baked potatoes with cheese, beans, tuna. The list is endless!

What so you normal eat?
