I cant beleive it- my son fell off the bed this morning - Hes 6 months old and is doing the whole rolling over thing. I was getting dressed and tried to grab him but it was to late. Called NHS direct and they said he sounded fine- Cried for about 2 mins then was back to rolling!!!!! But I sill fell so Bad!

that has happened... 3 times with me I felt so so so awful but apparently it happens alot I rushed DS (laughing and giggling) to A & E the first time but he was fine! The sound of the thud haunts me still, I jump when I hear a thud now even when he is in his cot! {{hugs}} Don't worry xXx

Don't worry - if this is the most serious accident he ever has you'll be lucky. Babies are surprisingly bouncy - at least he fell onto carpet and you were there to comfort him - our ds fell off bed in hotel in Spain onto a tiled floor! He was totally fine though.

(although it never happened to mine for some reason .. oh yes must be cos I'm perfect )

Can I also have a rant now please I've just made the mistake of telling my own mother and she totally went off on one!!! Telling me I have to look after him more carefully!!!!
Think she forgets how she told me about the time i fell out of my buggy because i wasn't strapped in properly!!!! or the time my sister fell out of her highchair and banged her head on the fire place!!!! angry]

when my baby was newish (within a couple of months) I whacked her head against the corner of a bookcase when I was feeding her. She had a corner-shaped dent in her head for a few days....

but I didn't tell my mum!

that happened to me but my son was 4 years old and fell off a high sleeper onto a toy box below...nearly cracked his ribs , his side all went blue and we took him straight to A&E who checked him over before a nurse came to give me a lecture about my son being too young to be in a high sleeper...I felt awful.
Hope your DS feels ok now.

michylou · 20/02/2007 14:25

Thanks bananasmoothie he's fine now thank goodness. Back to rolling around and sending my blood pressure sky high
