Hello. I'd like to start reading to my 4 month old. Does anyone have any suggestions for books suitable for babies?

My 7 months loves all books. Her favourite is Dear Santa and Going on a bear hunt. I would get a mixture of board books so she can learn to turn the pages and more traditional paper page books. The book people have good deals on a Julia Donaldson set, the that's not my...range are popular with babies as are anything with flaps e.g. Dear Zoo. Sainsbury's often seem to have fairly cheap board style books.

Lift the flap books - e.g. the tales from acorn wood ones (Rabbit's Nap etc) are great. DD also loves the level 1 Ladybird ones. I thought they would be a bit dull but they are just the right length and she likes the pictures.
