Since nobody has come forward with direct experience I though I would just say that while we have never had twins - congratulations to you both - we have 5 DC and have frequently had 2 in nappies, and for quite some time 3. I would say that with 2 children in nappies all the time you only need half as many nappies again as you would for one child and to wash every day rather than every other day which is what I did with only 1 child. That is subject to having a tumble drier or or some other means of drying sensibly inside if the weather is bad. We started with 24 terries and bought another dozen when DC2 came. We did buy more later (including some toddler size ones for overnight) when we had three in nappies but even then were really only using 30 to 36 at any time - 18 to 24 in the wash or drying and others on or waiting to be washed. As for type it is a matter of what suits you and what you can get on with. I found terries versatile in that they could be folded differently for boys and girls and for different ages, quick to dry, washable at high temperatures if stained or badly soiled and quick to change once I got used to them (not a long process). I would fold them ready for use when they came out of the drier or off the line and it became really very quick to whip off the wet or dirty one and replace. they are also great for mopping spills, using as a changing pad when out and about, dumping gently on the front of little boys to stop pee fountains going to far etc. etc. HTH
