Been out all morning with kids. They argued and moaned and generally were a PITA.

Came home. Started lunch.

22 month old had a full blown melt down and after 30 mins of his screaming I put him in his cot just so that he was out of my way.

Got lunch. They other two continued to argue and swabble.

Went to get 22 month out of cot (who was still SCREAMING) and brought him downstairs. Gave him his snuggy and sat him on my knee and played him some music that normally calms him....

so picture scene....

mummy still not had lunch herself, toddler on lap still throwing a complete wobbly.. and the older two are now yelling at each other and throwing things

MUMMY LOST THE PLOT. I screamed and I mean SCREAMED at the older two and told them to go away...

they went very quiet, looked very sheepish and are now upstairs on their own

well the screaming worked didnt it dont stress, i did this with my two the other day and actually probably most days at the moment.the 12year old "mouthy" preteen giving me the gob and winding the 2year old up, i screamed at both of them as i was trying to cook dinner as well. it shut them up

has to be done

oh andi hope your headache goes

Let them stay there until you have had lunch and a cuppa, they won't be emotionally scarred for life. You're not a bad person and you can go an give them a cuddle once you've had half an hour to yourself.

thanks guys. You are right. I will go and make myself a cup of tea. Just put the toddler in front of the TV with a banana, so he is quiet at the moment.

Honestly.... blasted kids.... they are enough to drive you to the edge sometimes ...

Calm yourself down, eat, go and find them and give them a cuddle.... also perhaps explain that you are sorry you shouted but mummy gets upset and angry too sometimes.

I wish there was just the one time when I'd lost it with mine . Recently it seems to be too often....

sounds like we are having the same kind of day. agree, have yourself a cuppa, take some deep breaths and you will be ok.

and dont beat yourself up for being human! i've just had a screaming yelling fit at my son for being autistic (basically) , we all reach a point of [head exploding emoticon]
