Staying a team in parenting even if you disagree?

How do you work as a team with your OH even if you disagree? Sometimes we disagree on things in parenting and I find it so hard to bite my tongue in the moment but we do usually talk about it once they're in bed. How do you resolve this without the kids feeling they've got your against each other?

Very simple, my husband just agrees with everything I say! :D
Me and hubby made some sort of pact years ago that we will not have any disagreements with each other in front of our children and somehow it just works. Very similar to what you said, sometimes you have to bite your tongue and discuss these things later when you are alone.

I think you need to discuss what is important to you and work out a united front.
Eg I always brush my youngest child's teeth once a day as she isn't very good at it. If DH is on bedtime then he lets her. But it's not a big deal.

We agree in front of them (sometimes I have to walk away) then argue later. Unless of course it totally crosses a line or goes against something I've said/a rule we've previously agreed then I wade in and the battle commences!

I've got better as the years have gone on (eldest DS now 13) - it used to drive me insane and I couldn't help myself piping up, but it is counter-productive disagree in front of the kids. Also helps if you have a fair amount of discussion with each other about any issues ('how are we going to handle this problem with xyz next time it happens..') before, so you know that you are a united front. Fucking annoying if you are a control freak like me though!
