How do you deal with four year old tantrums?

My ds is just four. A lovely, lively, funny boy but he never listens and when tired has huge tantrums. These involve roaring, hitting, slapping etc... I have seven month old and it's v hard to deal with. He is tall and v strong. Do you ignore, shout back...? No idea?

I use the naughty chair. I also (and a lot of parents would shoot me down for this) threaten with the naughty boy alarm, which I say alerts the police. I've been known to put the siren on my phone on YouTube Blush I save this for when he is being horrendous as he is terrified of it. Bad mum Shock

My daughter is exactly the same literally no listening what so ever when having a tantrum! I've tried numerous things, even tried lately that Father Christmas knows when she is being naughty! Nothing 🙈
I may try the alarm tactic though 😂
