Teeth pain? Nothing is working!!

15month old has been shouting since 8.45pm. I've tried more milk, cuddling, bringing her into bed, rocking in the chair. I had to forcibly administer nurofen but she spat it out, same for teething gel. Ive rocked her in buggy but she's still crying and it's coming up for three hours. Can't get in the car as have two other children sleeping, (one in my bed because she heard the noise). Her nappy is fine, she had a decentish dinner... what else can I try?

I spare by Ashton and Parsons natural teething powder, one sachet straight onto the tongue, followed up by a nice blob of teething gel then a dummy/teething toy. Has always worked perfectly for my little girl and when shes in pain with her teeth now she calms down as soon as she sees the sachet as she knows it make the pain go away.

Freeze some carrot sticks and let her chew on them? Or freeze a teething ring? Really anything cold can numb the pain. You could even freeze some milk into ice lollies.
I used to put my finger in their mouth and rub on the sore gum which helped a bit. Good luck.

What worked for us:

• alternating calpol and ibuprofen, though iboprofen was better then calpol (it's hard hand they spit it out but persevering and hopefully after a few times it won't get spit out so much)
• teething granules
• anbesol (liquid not gel), this was brilliant and much better than teething gel, and so much easier to apply than anything else.
• muslin or flannel damp and in fridge then they can chew on it and it's nice and cold

I second Anbesol liquid. Dip your finger in it and let the baby gum your finger- you can tell it works because your finger goes numb!

Yup anbesol and keeping on top of the nurofen.
Don't waste your money on amber necklaces or other quackery

Another Ashton & Parsons fan here! Success with both dds along with Calpol when it's really bad and definitely something baby safe to chew on, may take a few attempts to find out which she gets the most relief gnawing on, watch out for your fingers!

Anbesol liquid, it is behind the counter in chemists. It is stronger and easier to apply than gel. If your lo has a dummy, quickly put in the dummy after the medicine.
