Rude people!

The way some people talk to others on here come across so patronising and rude. I read comments and I think 'who the hell do you think you are'

People come on here to seek advice and opinions yes - but there are polite ways to tell people if you do not agree with what they are saying or doing!

I quite like the bluntness tbh if you don't like it you could always use netmums instead?

I don't always like the bluntness but I think you have to not take it to heart, it's not like it's your best freind saying it!

It's also a very good way of finding out what people really think...there are opinions that I had no idea existed before I joined MN and I've found that useful even if it isn't always pleasant.

The only thing that you do have to do is filter out the RL world from the MN world...for instance in the MN world ALL children travel in rear facing seats and never stay in the car unattended, not even for a nano second...even at the petrol station!

You'd be better off calling it out when you see it. When you start a general thread accusing people generally of being rude it sets everyone on the defensive which never ends well. Some people on here are breathtakingly rude, yes. You just know they'd never speak to people in real life like that. However, others are kind, helpful and polite. A general thread ranting about rudeness feels like you're accusing everyone.

Never would I accuse all people, hence why I wrote some people, I have come across some lovely people on here and read lovely comments on other people's threads. Just found that often I have seen some very harsh responses.

Then confront it when you see it op! Most people who are genuinely rude will probably not think this thread applies to them. Chuck the good old mumsnet 'did you mean to be so rude?!' thing at them!

It has always been like this, despite the comments about 'it wasn't like this before penis beaker' etc.

It's not compulsory to be on here....

Seriously why start a thread whining about the site - just don't spend time on here if it bothers you that much?

(And the 'did you mean to be so rude' makes you look a complete PA twat, particularly if the answer is 'yes I did actually')

People are just concerned that you are choosing parenting options that have been proven to be unsafe for young babies.

What would you prefer people to say? Ur bubba ur rulz, Hun?

The trouble is, there is generally a safe way to do things, and unsafe ways...it's not the case that all parenting options are equal. I hope you can see that is what the posters on your thread meant.
