Month old sleeping in swinger?

My month old son is a very unsettled baby! He hates being put down on his back, hates his moses basket, he just hates being put down which means i cannot get sod all done. Today he has been non-stop crying and i had to get bottles washed and sterilised and he would not settle down or stop screaming so i got my oh to buy a joie serina swing and put him straight into it and hello! He went to bloody sleep! Second time he went in there & settled down and went sleep. Im worried about having to do this often as when i got him out to put him into his moses he screamed the place down again. Im guessing its not safe for them to sleep in there so what do i do?? I mean is it safe for them afterall? He usually sleeps in bed with me and my oh goes downstairs in the front room which is annoying because we dont get our quality time together due to him constantly crying and just causing me to really lose my patience :( its not his fault poor sod but i am honestly losing faith!! How can this infant just be settled like every other normal baby?

Hi op do you know why he's crying? wind? Reflux? Knowing this might help you not need the swing all the time. My dd has never slept in a moses basket when it's flat she likes a incline as she has reflux. Have you tried a sling he might luke the movement.

I don't know the swing you're referring to but my difficult first slept in his car seat most of the time, terrible mother i know but you do what youve got to do for your sanity

Safe for how long OP? An hour, maybe. But all new Mums know the 'safe sleeping' guidelines off by heart so if baby is really unhappy in its back there is a reason why.

I wouldn't worry for short periods during the day but not for sleeping at night.
Try your local sling library to see what suits you, maybe a stretchy like Moby or a ring sling. New babies just want to be cuddled and held close and a sling will help you to get things done.

As another poster said though, you need to try and work out why baby is crying because this seems like ore than colic. Maybe look at reflux symptoms to see if you think that is an issue. another option could be an osteopath who specialises in babies. OP the description of your son sounds exactly like my 5 weeks old. It turns out that he has reflux, so being put flat on his back in his Moses basket, especially after a feed was causing him to be wriggly and in pain. We found that keeping him upright for at least 20mins, burping him lots and tilting his Moses basket stand so it's at a bit of an angle has worked wonders. DS also likes being put in a carrier or moby wrap, which means I can get stuff done, and then he'll transfer into his Moses basket with no problems for the most part
