When to trick or treat?

Sorry, no idea where to post this... but I'm Canadian and expect to ToT on the day -31st- but English DH says it could happen today too. I want to be prepared! When should I expect to get my door knocked on? And when should I take my 5YO DS out to ToT?

I'm not giving out to anyone that comes before Monday so they would be told to go away and come back when it's Halloween. We get them round here anytime from 5.30ish until maybe 8pm but only on the 31st

Nope not Halloween till Monday found there will.be many houses decorated today so not many to visit. I like Halloween but would be pretty annoyed if anyone turns up tonight.

I'm from California & would be (always been) very sniffy @ anyone who turned up b4 the 31st. 5:30/5:45 pm to 8pm in my town.
