Should we go to a&e ?

I need some help asap. Earlier today at 5pm my 3.8 year old was climbing and fell off landing on her hand/ arm. She was obviously upset but calmed down quickly, and hasn't said anything hurts anyway, she went on to eat tea, watch bedtime hour, have a bath, stories and then bed, so totally fine but she woken up 3 times hysterical screaming saying her arm hurts. She can move her hand,fingers bare weight on it but is saying it hurts really bad.
So do you think I should do anything ? Or is she just being 3 ? I'm
Home alone do not drive and I don't know what to think ? Am I overreacting?
It's horrible hearing her whimpering upstairs.

In your situation I would take her to A&E or at a minimum call 111 for advice?

My nephew fell in a soft play when he was 2.5. He hurt his arm but barely cried and could still move it. Dsis went to a&e and it was broken requiring surgery and pins in it.

I would be concerned if the pain was waking her. I would call 111.

If she's whimpering in her sleep it must hurt, I'd probably take her. Have you given her some calpol ?

Yeah as the pain is waking her she's obviously not just being 3 (not meaning to sound rude, sorry!). 111 will just tell you to go to A&E so I'd just go straight up. Pain in the arse but she won't sleep and it's not fair to leave it till morning.

Give her paracetamol and ibuprofen now if you havent done already so that it has a chance to start working before they see her then take her to A&E. Without an xray you cant know for sure that it is not a fracture. They shouldnt be too busy now hopefully.

A&E. We currently have 20 month old with broken arm. It was very obviously broken (completely snapped) but yours could be a fracture. Hopefully she is ok but better to check. Hopefully she is ok x

Can she clap her hands? If she can't it's broken. Or at least that's how my dd was checked

Yes a&e tonight. Paediatric fractures can be so difficult to pick up on without X-rays. Hope all goes ok.

Yep I agree with others both mine have had green stick fractures ( soft bone essentially) when it looked like possibly nothing. Good luck.

My DD fell over aged 2 and hurt her arm, she couldn't stop crying. I took her to a & e she had "nursemaids elbow", basicallu a slight elbow dislocation. They just swiftly straightened her arm and it went back into place and the pain was gone immediately. Happens all the time apparently. Especially if you swing kids by their arms.

Hope all goes ok, I fracture my arm when I was six, no swelling, could move my fingers but it still hurt. They were doubtful at the hospital that I'd done anything, x-ray showed chipped bone in my wrist and fracture up to my elbow, shows that it's not always obvious. Hope she is ok
