Sore bottom

Don't know whether this should be in health, development or what, so am plumping for here!

Poor DD is working on cutting her top teeth and last week had some spectacular runny smelly poos, but she hasn't been for the last two days. Today, however, she has done three or four smallish (size of fist - hers not mine ) poos, which have been formed but not hard. As soon as she's done each one she has been screaming in pain and hasn't stopped crying until her bottom is clean again, which incidentally has looked very sore this afternoon, compared to last weeks mega explosions which she slept through!!!

Sorry for the rambling post and TMI, but can anyone tell me if this sounds like teething poo or should I be whisking her to the doctor? If teething poo, is Sudocrem the best thing to carry on with?

TIA

not sure what a teething poo is
but try leaving her nappy off between changes ( is she immobile?)
or try metanium - it's v good stuff - you can get it pretty much anywhere ( tescos, boots, etc etc)

Re: teething poo. I've been told that when babies teeth it can upset their digestive system and cause pretty caustic poos.

May give Metanium a go! Thanks for reponding.

Ashton & Parsons Infant Teething Powders are fab

Herbal product for symptomatic relief of pain and gastric upset associated with teething

I give them to mine even when they just have tummy upset

dd 18months has really nasty teethg poos - very acidic and funny looking, but always coincides with teeth so I know thats what it is, and nasty smelling wee which both give her the nastiest rash you can imagine, I slogged on with sudocream for ages before discovering metanium, it works so well and so quickly I dont buy anything else now. I little smear when she first looks sore and it is gone by next nappy change.

it is £3.50 for a smallish tube whih seems expensive but is so worth it and it does last for ages

so a second for metanium

Thanks - already have the teething powders and bought some Metanium this morning - she's already looking better.

Camimilla homeopathic treatment is good for teething (at least 30C).

What I'm not sure about is whether it helps the poos.

I swear by silk bourette liners for healing nappy rash, but they need to be hand washed so avoid using when very runny poos are around...

Another vote for Metanium which I tried over the weekend after reading this thread. Waw - DDs teething-related sore bottom disappeared almost immediately. Had used Sudocrem for 2 days which had no effect. Am well impressed so thanks for the tip folks!
