Overfeeding

I've read and heard numerous times that you cannot overfeed a baby but i am starting to become conercerned avout my 4 week old.
She is formula fed and currently having 4 feeds throughout the day of 5-6 oz and then 2 feeds during the night of around 3 oz. I just feel its alot but obviously i cant stop her being hungry.

Is she throwing up after feeds? And I don't mean just a little spit up, that's normal.

I would say just keep doing what you're doing. On your next check up, the hv will be able to tell you if she's the right weight for her length.

My son was a very hungry baby at that age. I think he was on about the same, if not slightly more, and feeding every 2-3 hours

No she is never sick, she is quite long too not very chubby so maybe thats what she needs all the food for?

Probably :) my son is big for his age too. He's 3 months old, but has already filled out 3-6 month clothes!

My dd goes through phases when she has lots of milk and phases when she does not have much milk. Just keep feeding on demand.

'They' say you can't overfeed a breastfed baby. You can overfeed a baby on formula, of course. I was overfeeding my first child (on the advice of the HV who also said you couldn't overfeed). He would only settle with milk and seemed hungry all the time. Would bring it back up all the time coz his tummy was obviously so full. Had to go to hospital to see paediatrician who said they disagree very much with my HV and that you can indeed overfeed a formula fed baby.

It doesn't actually sound like you are overfeeding though; I remember my 5 month old wanting 6oz every hour. That was overfeeding
