Teen/young mums

Hi I was wondering if there any other young mums on here to talk to or does anyone know an app or something that I could talk to other teen/young mums on

There's loads of young mums on here
I was 19 when I fell pregnant with my first, she's 17 months now and I'm 36 weeks pregnant with number 2

I find that too - I'm always the youngest person there when I go to baby groups and stuff!
When I had my Dd and the health visitor came round for the first time, she assumed I live in military housing because my Dad was serving....she looked quite shocked when I told her it's my husband not my dad!

I haven't gone to any baby groups yet but I will when she is older

I had my first when I was 17. I'm now 33 and he is nearly 16!

In my experience, I had no more in common with young mums than I did other mums.

I'm just trying to say don't rule older people out. Being a new mum is a very 'levelling' experience, and you will find friendships in all sorts of places.

happy is right - even though you have age in common with other young mums, that might be it. Your circumstances might be totally different!
Most of my friends are 5-10 years older than me, all married to my DH's work colleagues, but didn't get married quite as young as me and DH. Baby groups will have a massive range of people there, and they are a great way to get chatting with other mums - especially while baby is still young enough to be plonked on a playmat and will stay in one place I'm at the point now where I spend the whole 2 hours chasing my feral toddler around the Children's Centre!!!

Thank you for saying that. I am lucky to still have my friends around and they come to see me and my little girl one or a few times a week.

Also I went clothes shopping with my little girl and people have dirty looks but I just ignored them as I don't care what other people think. But I loved when I went into mothercare and the staff were so friendly in there.

How old are you op?

I was 19 when I fell pregnant with my first, 20 when he was born. I then had DC2 at 21, DC3 at 25 and I'm now 28 and 38 weeks with DC 4!

newmummy the "looks" you get from people can be the worst I look a lot younger than 22, and now I'm walking around with my 17 months old and a gigantic baby belly, people look at like shit and shake their heads. But they do not know my circumstances the same way they don't know yours! I've had people make assumptions and say some terrible things directly to my face. But if you think about it, they are just judgemental arse holes!!

Someone recently commented although not to me I might add, that I look like a 12 year old ....

I got loads more dirty looks and comments when I was pregnant and me and my boyfriend were getting the car seat and loads of clothes. I had someone come up to me and my boyfriend in the middle of mothercare and said that we are to young to have a baby, we won't be able to look after the baby and loads of nasty things like that until one of the staff members told her to leave and don't come back in. I thought this was so nice of them and me and my boyfriend thanked her.

Fair enough, people see young parents and think those things in their head, but it's disgusting when they think it's ok to say it out loud, to your face

I am 16 and so is my boyfriend and found out I was pregnant when I was 15.

If you have plenty of real life support, you're happy, and baby is well looked after, then sod what other people think.

Yeah me and my boyfriend get everything she needs and our parents support us as I am living at home

I'm 23 nearly 24 and with no make up on I look about 15. My daughter is 8months old and when I'm out and about alot of people look at me and give out a fair few dirty looks. It's really annoying but I think you don't know me, Why do i care what you think? Just bugs me that people always think the worst of young mum's (even if I'm not actually that young hehe)..Congratulations btw xx

You all have fairly young DC, just wait until your DC are nearly as tall as you and you blend in with the kids in the playground ...
