Grobag alternative?

Since my ds could stand in his cot he has been falling over and smacking his head due to the grobag. I worried one day he'd smack his front teeth so stopped using them. Since then I've been using a cover for about 4-5 months (hes 12.5 months). Now it's cold I don't know what to do. Tried grobag again the other night and same issue plus terrible night as he seemed to get twisted in it. He moves a hell of a lot at night. Any alternatives or advice on how I can keep him warm at night?

Fleece sleep suit, you can layer up with a tshirt or pj top and leggings.

We had padded sleepsuits which had the same tog rating as a gro-bag.
A pp has already mentioned Jo Jo Maman Bebe, we also found some in Mothercare.

We use a Baby Merlin magic sleepsuit (bought on Amazon). It's fab.

Mother are also so padded sleepsuits. My house is so cold they wear them under their sleeping bag!

Fleecy sleepsuits. With a t-shirt, vest or jammies underneath as necessary. We changed to using these for exactly the same reason and have never looked back :)

Just re-read your post, and the Baby Merlin thing will probably be too small for your LO. I have just bought one of these for winter:

As he's over a year how about a duvet? Is he in a cot or cot bed? If it's a cot bed, a single duvet laid sideways and tucked in on both sides is a good fit otherwise you can buy cot/cot bed sized duvets.

Have used jojo maman padded sleep suits since my eldest was 10 months and doing the same thing, trying to walk in grobags. Worked out really well and now using them with the youngest.

My DD was out of grobags by 9 months, she hated them we went straight to duvet. Duvet or blanket with pjs (and socks now its cold!) or sleepsuitalthough she was out of anything 'poppered' by 9 months as well

If you are worried you could try the gro bedding where the duvet cover is fixed on one side to the undersheet. But personally I dont think its worth the bother.

I think Vertbaudet also sell the bedding where the duvet zips to the sheet? I always thought they were a good idea, but pricey and possibly a complete PITA if you've got to change the sheets in the middle of the night!

How do people keep then covered with a duvet? Ds is 14 months and moves a lot! He's been without a bag or blanket all summer, just in varying degrees of vest, pj's etc. Now it's getting cooler I've tried a thin quilt but he gets out if it in minutes! I do have a couple of grobags but not sure how he will get on with them now.

DD hated grobags, so she was out of them fairly early. We just put her in normal sleepsuits with feet until she was about two then sleepsuits without feet. She doesn't seem to care if the bedding gets kicked off or not, she doesn't wake up with the cold.

Nottalotta I had DD1 under a duvet at 16mo this time last year. She was in a cot bed (as a bed) with a single duvet fitted sideways and tucked under the mattress both sides. It stopped her rolling out or kicking the covers off. She loved the space she gained to spread out, and I think in hindsight she hated being constricted by the sleeping bag as she was an appalling sleeper until the change. I moved her to a single bed with the duvet laid properly just after her 2nd birthday (we needed the cot bed back for DD2) and had no issues with her kicking it off as yet, presumably as she has become used to it on the smaller bed.

My main worry is that he burrows his way up the bed, so would get out of the duvet. He does have a cot bed and covers every inch of it........
