Travelling to a wedding with a 12 week old

Hi just wondered what other mummies thought about this:

I am first time mum to a beautiful baby girl. We have been invited to a wedding in York (we live near Birmingham) when DD will be 12 weeks old. Do you think it's do-able? I am exclusively breast feeding and we are in an ok-ish routine... fussy time at night seems to be reducing and after a bath, bedtime is about 8.30 with 1 or 2 wakes in the night. We could stay at the venue so I would have a handy room for feeding / changing etc and could travel the day before and leave the day after: my husband thinks it will be fine but just wondered if others had any tips/ experience? Thank you x

Easy! Do it. If baby sleeps in a Moses basket just take it and her sleep environment won't change. Outfit choice slight my trickier if BF but when I recently went to a wedding in Poland with my 4-month-old I popped up to my hotel room to feed. It was a nice break from the crowds for him and I enjoyed a sit down! I just did my best to keep him entertained during the service with toys etc so we weren't the couple with the screaming baby!!!

Plus they love people watching and being somewhere new - I was flabbergasted my son stayed quiet during the speeches at a time he is usually howling for bed

I did a similar trip when DD2 was three weeks old, it was no extra bother at all to be honest and everyone spent the whole evening fawning over her. Enjoy!

It'll be fine. If you're still breast feeding then wear a feeding dress or one with easy access, and at that age if they get fussy just stick them on the boob.

Do it you will be fine. We went to the US when DD was 10 weeks old and didn't have any problems on the flight or while we were there. It is easier when they are smaller and not moving around.
