4 month old waking hourly in the night!

My baby has a feed around 8pm and then goes down for between 2.5-3.5 hours, after then it's mostly hourly and the only way to get her to go back to sleep is to feed her. Last night she work up 6 times and I fed her for 5 of those, one time she settled with the dummy.

It's been going on a few weeks now as she used to sleep in chunks of 2 or 3. I'm exhausted and struggling to function on this little sleep. Can anyone offer any advice as to what to do. I'm breastfeeding her at the moment during the night and occasionally feed formula during the day.

It's the well known 4 month sleep regression. No advice, other than to ride it out. Sorry.

My ds did this at 4 months. Woke every hour from about 11pm.

Only lasted 6 weeks thank goodness. We moved him into his own bed which either helped or was a coincidence so no real advice to add.

Dd is 8 weeks and I'm bracing myself for a repeat of the evil 4 month sleep regression!

Wait it out I'm afraid. It does get better! Sleep is mostly just developmental and will improve naturally without you doing anything.

Unfortunately like the others have said it's very normal.

Could you move a couple of the formula feeds to the night so your partner can help?

Thank you all for your replies. Smile
