How many "why?" phases???!

I know that children go through "why?" phases and that they are really quite annoying but I had noidea that the first one would be at age 2! How many more of these are we likely to get?

you wait til they progress on to the whos, whats and wheres ie who is that man there mummy?, what's his name?, where's he going? about everybody in the street!

There was a woman laughing at ds and I on the bus home today because he must have asked "why" or "why not" AT LEAST 50 times in the space of a 3 mile journey. (I kid you not).
Now I am a very patient lady but this is driving me Crackers!!!
