Hiya

I've got a DS who sleeps well, he'll be 14.5 mo when our next baby is born. I'm figuring to put the new baby in his room after a couple of months. We don't have room in our bedroom for anything bigger than moses basket, don't do cosleeping, and only have one kid's bedroom at the moment...

Anyone have any advice on how to get them to sleep in the same room? We already play lullaby music for DS naptimes. I suppose this might help drown out noises of bringing a baby in/out of the room... but surely the baby cries a lot and this will wake DS? I'm worried...

Thanks for any help. I know, I know, we need a bigger house. Next year!!

Hi Kel, my DS will also be 14.5 months old when the newborn arrives (next week) and it'll be in moses basket next to me in 'my' room and DS with his dad in next room (we co-slept but i moved myself out when i got too PG to be bothered with sharing bed with DH and DS!)
I'd be interested to read what others suggestions are on this. For the foreseeable future though, it will be a case of us (each parent) with a child until we think of plan B. Don't know if i could trust my DS on his own just yet with baby in room (actually doesn't bear thinking about just yet)....

Good luck x

my ds2 is 9 months and dd is 2.8 - ds1 is to share a room with dd, but as yet is still in with me - dd sleeps through from 7 til 7 ds1 wakes during the night, i want to try to leave him but darent put him in another room in case he wakes dd up! but also not sure if it will make him sleep through and then i am up in the night wnadering round the house!
oh the decisions! good luck x
