What are you doing with your DC today?

DD is 23 months and is bored of EVERYTHING. I have a newborn so I am looking to do things as home as frankly, I am exhausted and am yet to venture out with them both on my own.

The only thing she wants to do is watch Peppa Pig on TV, she will listen to me read a book for a limited amount of time, plays with her small world toys for about 5 minutes and will colour for about 10 minutes.

What sort of things do you do with your toddler DC on a Sunday? We are moving soon and then ill have a playroom which will give her more space for make believe items like her kitchen and play farm etc.

Get them outside.

At this time of year there are conkers, acorns, blackberries, haws... All sorts to collect and keep you busy.

Then home for hot choc and popcorn in front of a film

That's a good idea.

DDs 16 months and just 4.

We had breakfast then Skyped my DM. Went to swimming early and mucked about on the soft play there, came home and played in the playroom before lunch. Nap then a long walk/scoot by the canal, pint and crisps then home for dinner.

Outside, outside, outside.
Whatever works best for you but I found that the park, a 'state' home near by, anywhere where they could run around wo too much supervision was good.
Oh and a little tike car for the garden did wonders too, sand pit, etc... Too.

Then 'outings' to different things (the pet shop, the market to look at all the fruits and vegs, the beach etc etc) Everything is still a huge discovery for them so there are still plenty of places to go that are free but fascinating for them. I did just put dc2 in the pushchair for these outings.

She is still little so it's quite normal she isn't spending hours in her 'make believe worlds'. And yes she will flick quickly from one game to the next.

Conker side note: Apparently we won't have the horse chestnut tree in 20 years or something thanks to a disease from moths.
