Milk allergy or just sensitive skin?

DD is 6.5 mo and started solids recently. She's had milky porridge a few times and every time she does she gets redness around her mouth where porridge has touched her skin. It doesn't look like a rash. Doesn't seem to bother her and goes away within half an hour or so.

Anyone's baby had this? DS reacted to yogurt like this when he was a baby, but only first time he ate it, it was fine after that.

Have you made it with normal milk? I've just tried giving porridge with normal milk and my DD has got a bit of a rash around her mouth. Don't think it's from contact though.

No, that's just sensitive baby skin if it goes away fairly quickly. Both of mine had it in varying degrees with different foods, BU especially more acidic things like strawberries and tomatoes.

Milk allergy tends to be more gastrointestinal with lovely diarrhoea voice of bitter experience

Yes, full fat cows milk.

Thanks Elphaba, good to know. This morning the redness was less and paler, so I guess her skin just needs to toughen up.
