Ds1 is off to uni next week - any one else?

That's it really, Ds1 is going to Bristol uni next Sunday. He's my baby. I never thought he'd leave home. If only I could turn the click back and have the time again. Any one else in the same position?

Never thought my DS would get anywhere near the grades to get into uni but he is off on Saturday

I was you three years ago when DD1 went to Warwick. I remember it well. I felt bereft as we dropped her off and only just about managed to hold it together until we were off campus and out of sight. Good thing DH was there to drive as I would have made a hash of it. My limbs had all gone to jelly.

We did have an empty nest support thread over in Higher Education. It may still be there, though I haven't been on it for a few months. I last used it this time last year, when I had just seen her off for her year abroad in Paris. I was feeling awful again because she was terrified (was fine once there though).

DD1 is about to go into her final year now (4 year course) and we have no idea what will happen after that.

I am sure your DS will be fine, but I do sometimes think it can be even harder for us parents than it is for them.
